Spent last week at Izy lake and what a week we had! Caught over 50 fish in total. 4 Sturgeon to 42lb and what a fight they put up. Over 20 grass carp to just over 38lb 6 of those being over 30lb and handful of mirrors and commons. A couple of koi carp also graced our presence. The king carp had just finished spawning when we arrived so I can only assume that is why the catches of them were down in numbers but as the week progressed they started to come on the feed again. We were in swim 3 which gave access to a large section of the lake with a small island and lots of snag free margins to entice a bite. Our swim was well thought out and maintained. The Bivvy that is already set up is huge and the outbuilding in the swim is ideal to store your items and keep them dry not matter what the weather! The facilities were nice and clean, albeit a small bike ride away which I actually enjoyed. A bike and cart is provided to get you too and from the facilities which makes it effortless if you need something. Overall a great week lovely hosts and plenty of action. There are a lots of small carp from natural reproduction but I stepped up to 20mm and 24mm boilies and that seemed to solve that problem. I would recommend this venue if you want plenty of action with the mystery of not knowing what will be on the end of the line every bite
great fishery where you have no idea what species you are going to catch next. We had 10 sturgeon to 22 kilos, 4 mirror carp to 18 kilos, 4 common carp to 10 kilos, 1 koi,
10 grass carp to 15 kilos and a number of tench.
Considering how hot it was (40 c on the 18/06) we were very pleased with what we caught. The fish were in good condition.
All fish came to boillies fished over pellets and particles.
Facilities were good and met all our needs.
The swim layout with the bivvy and the cook tent was also good. We hope to return
Great venue. Having not been to France fishing before, everyone that fished had a personal best, which made it a very good trip. The carp weren’t feeding much as they had recently spawned but the sturgeon kept us busy between the few carp we did manage to catch. We caught carp up to 32lb and we had over 25 sturgeon between us up to 78lb. The facilities were fantastic, the luxury cabin has everything you could possibly need and was very clean and tidy. There was an endless supply of wood for the wood burning stoves on the pegs and supermarkets are less than 10 minutes drive away. Would definitely recommend.
Yvan the owner is a top guy with a great fishing knowledge. As we arrived early he kindly let us sleep in his building and use the facility! Thank you majestic. He has a nice gravel drive with woodland surroundings.
