Lake
From 2026 onwards, Deer Park is organised around two spacious double swims facing each other, giving you plenty of choice on how to approach the lake. Swim 3 features a large pontoon with room for two anglers and excellent access to a wide range of spots. On the opposite bank, Swim 1 has been completely redesigned: you now have two chalets, one on the left dedicated to cooking and dining, and one on the right with a large picture window facing the water and the bed positioned directly in front of it. A new pontoon has also been added here to open up your angles and make the most of the lake. Each swim can accommodate a maximum of two anglers.
Between these two main swims, you’ll find a classic bivvy swim (swim 2) that is only available when you book the lake on an exclusive basis. It remains empty when the swims are rented separately, so nobody can interfere with your lines or fishing angles. Just behind this central swim 2, there’s also a small relaxation area with a table football and a dartboard – perfect for taking a break between runs.
You can even sleep in your bedchairs in the chalet if you want to stay “in session mode” while enjoying extra comfort. Everything at Deer Park has been very carefully thought out so that you’re completely immersed in nature. Since there is still deer-rearing on site, you’ll often find yourself face to face with these majestic animals, or at least hear their distinctive bark. A few goosebump moments are guaranteed.
The lake has an average depth of around 1.2 metres, with a few deeper trenches down to just over 2 metres. The bottom is mostly soft silt with some harder patches. While the owner is keen to preserve the wild, natural feel of the venue, the swims themselves are clean and very well prepared, with overhanging branches removed and access optimised. Nothing has been left to chance to help you fish efficiently and confidently.

September 20, 2026 at 10:24 amHaving just returned from a week on deer park felt obliged to leave review.
3 of us fished the lake with two in swim1 and a guy over in swim3, have to say the facilities as mentioned by various other reviews are adequate, swim1 having a sleeping cabin and a kitchen cabin is very home from home, likewise swim3 the same albeit a more compact cabin and just the one, so cannot fault tbh, and the shower in swim3 I’m told was hot, the facilities for swim1 meant that toiletries and shower facilities was just a walk up the path where the flushing toilet and the container housing the shower was situated.
The fishing was for all of very hard going, and the fish were along the far margin (swim1) and to the dead tree in swim3.
We got off to a flyer with two catching on first night sadly for the guy in swim3 he then had to wait 5-6days for his next fish, in the meantime being pulled or snagged was becoming the norm.
In swim1 the fish ranged from 10lb8oz to 45lb 8oz.
We managed 12fish in total although the stories of “the one that got away” would have added to tally had we not lost them!!!
A big shout out to Thibault, again, as everyone has mentioned before he is a great and really helpful guy and only a text or phone call away, he even midweek jumped in the boat and lent a hand to baiting the swim for the guy in swim3, did not hesitate, thank you for that.
Surroundings idyllic and wildlife wherever you looked be it deer, cattle, donkey’s often making an appearance near your swim along with the birdlife its itself is very relaxing.
Enjoyed the trip and a big thank you to Thibault

August 30, 2026 at 8:59 amAmazing stay and what a place! Beautiful surroundings and a beautiful lake.
Facilities were great and we managed fine with 7 of us, 4 adults and 3 children. I think the only downside was the fridge freezer which was located a few minutes walk away and the electric due to a storm was running from a battery and couldn’t cope with everything all at once 🤣 but we managed absolutely fine.
Theabult was great and always a message or phone call away for help or more bait 🤣
All 5 anglers got their PBs as well ranging from 30 – 44lbs! A total of 17 carp out for the weeks stay.
Overall 10/10
See catches
