Facilities – The facilities are very basic, The shower head needs replacing, all the water from the shower runs through to the toilet. No gas for the cooker or stove.
The owner is a nice chap, not a fisherman his self so unable to point us in a few directions.
Recommendations –
– Take rodent killer, plenty of them about and few bivvy’s got chewed through
– Take toilet roll none provided
– Club house needs catch report as information is hard to find.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some good action of hard fighting fish.

September 24, 2023 at 9:11 amFishing was really good and the bloke was very friendly and pleasant. The club house was very basic and needs a really good clean and some much needed maintenance. It also needs a catch report book in the clubhouse, as information on this lake is so hard to find. The fish themselves are in such good condition, its a credit to the owner and all the anglers that have fished there previously. We had over 50 fish between 6 anglers with the biggest a 57.6lb mirror and 4 anglers walking away with new PB’s so a good trip for all

Noir Fontaine lies in a remote area of north east France, it is away from busy roads and towns it is free from noise and light pollution.
The lake is approx. 350yds long by 130yds wide and apporx 3 ½ ft deep (normally 4 ½ ft). The bottom is clear with little or no weed, no snags other than the obvious overhanging bushes.
The roadside pegs are large and clear with parking directly behind the peg.
The fish stock is excellent, hard fighting Commons, Mirrors and Grass Carp almost all perfect mint condition. The fish showed well rolling, crashing out and bubbling particularly at dawn and dusk.
Although the conditions were far from favourable, extreme heat and high pressure, our group, 3 anglers, had a brilliant week, we fished from pegs 2, 3 & 4, most of the fish came from the far margin.
We caught steadily from the start, catching 89 carp between us the best being a stunning 56lb mirror with many 40s and big 30s backing up the haul. Approx. 25% were grass carp but this was probably due the extreme heat favouring the grassies.
We all fished from the road side which is ideal for 4 anglers, the far side pegs are overgrown with no access by car.
The roadside pegs have large concrete slabs at the water’s edge, I’d strongly recommend bringing rubber mats for the rods and knee pads.
The facilities are very basic but the toilet and shower were clean and worked well. The cabin has good clean water a chest freezer, fridge a small electric oven.
The owner is an affable chap, a fish farmer and university Don, he was happy answer questions on all aspects of fish life and nutrition.
In conclusion a good venue we would return to but a little better prepared.

July 25, 2023 at 8:16 pmGood evening a little catch report from my recent trip to the noir frontain complex . As I didn’t see many before we went .and I was a little hesitant as to what we would find the fishing to be like .
We had an amazing weeks fishing with around 135 carp caught the biggest being 47lb with 8 fish going over 40lb most fish was mid 30s only around 15 fish was under 30lb the grass carp where crazy we had two of those over 40lb also . At times we had triple takes highly recommended
The owner was a really nice guy that called to see us every few days .
