Lake
At approximately 2 acres, Rustic Lake is relatively small, but there is plenty beneath the surface to keep anglers thinking throughout the week. Depth reaches around 13 ft close to the dam, while the lakebed is mainly a mixture of sand and silt.
One of the main features of the lake is the variety of underwater structure. An old submerged wall, rocky areas, tree stumps and individual underwater boulders all provide obvious patrol routes and attractive feeding areas for the carp. Combined with the lake's clear water, these features make accurate observation and careful spot selection an important part of the fishing.
Weed and algae are virtually absent, making presentation relatively straightforward across much of the lake.
There are two natural, minimally developed swims. The main swim along the dam offers enough room for the group to fish together, which is a real advantage for friends or families who do not want to spend their holiday separated around the lake.
Vehicle access is possible to part of the fishing area. Both boats and bait boats are permitted, and a rowing boat can also be hired on site.
