Encompassing 9 acres, Grand Tarnauds stands as a haven for anglers seeking a comprehensive and comfortable fishing experience. The meticulously crafted gravel fishing spots, coupled with cozy log cabins, offer not only comfort but also a diverse underwater topography. The lake showcases regularly changing depths and distinct hotspots, featuring areas with hard or muddy bottoms and variations in depth. This diversity ensures there's something to cater to every angler's preferences.

October 9, 2025 at 2:09 pmMy friend and I arrived 27th September for a week in Swim 2.
Slow start but had some cracking fish,20 carp between us for the week, biggest 47lb.
Definitely not a Runs Water but if you put in the work there are some lovely fish to be had.
Cabin has everything needed. The owner is friendly and helpful.
Some heavy weed so strong tackle needed and find clear spots or fish on light weed.
No issues encountered with crays [did see some but never really caused an issue] and only 2 bream the whole week.
Would go again for sure.
Only negative thing was the cabin smealt like it had been smoked in, so not great for non smokers, smoke lingering on the curtains, other than that it was pretty much perfect.

August 31, 2024 at 1:45 pmVERY tough week for 4 experienced anglers.
2 carp caught right hand side of peg 1 on the first two nights 26lb common & 20lb mirror. Left hand side had 5 bream in first two nights. Hardly any shows. Bird life a nightmare. Weed, nuisance fish & crays in an abundance.
Peg 1 anglers went home Thursday.
Peg 2 right hand side had 1 bream & lost a carp into a weed bed.
Left hand of peg 2 had nothing from Saturday to Thursday.
Peg 2 moved onto Florian’s small lake & had 3 carp biggest 23lb & 6 bream which where even taking double tiger nut.
Both lakes are nice but the big lake isn’t a runs water and we feel it’s not as described on majestic carp.
Lodges are basic but have everything you require (NO ADDITIONAL FREEZER SPACE 15kg max!)
Plastics & tigers are a must, Korda wrap also.
We did manage to meet Florian on Thursday as he was on holiday previous to this.
He was always on hand over what’s app.
Weekends locals on a lake next door playing ridiculously loud music screaming & shouting all night. This happened on our arrival and Friday before we left. It went on from 8pm-9am when we left.
Lovely surroundings & has great potential but we won’t be returning.

August 25, 2024 at 3:33 pmVery hard week my friend and I caught 2 bream 9lbish and 1 mirror 17lb 7oz on our first day fishing on Sunday in swim 1. No fish showing at all in the lake all week. We did lose a few, tried everything without any success. The angler in swim 2 appeared to do much better catching regularly perhaps 3 per day. Having fished this venue last April with good catches we are two very disappointed anglers this visit.
