Mill of Vaise - Tips

Welcome to Mill of Vaise, an exceptional lake on Majestic Carp’s books. This lake promises you a great compromise on regular catches and a chance to beat your PB. Nothing is a give-away, though; you will have to use some clever strategies to catch the biggest fish.

Each angler has his/her preferences with regard to bait but we have had good feedback on the use of the Redacy, Exoviolet and Power Nuts boilies from the Hexabaits range which you can find here.

Combinations of boilies with floating baits, such as fake corn, poppups and watfer, work very well. The important thing is to place your bait correctly. A tiger nut on the hook can also give you some success in tough times.

Use a targeted baiting and small quantities on precise zones baiting from a dinghy/small boat or bait-boat. Don’t put a lot of bait in the water as this can cause the fish to become overly active during your session. Fish are very active on Mill of Vaise and competition for food is high. By using this baiting strategy you will keep the fish coming back to your spot and the starts can be repeated. For baiting use mainly particles (well cooked!) and remain discreet.

Hot spot

Fishing the extremes of the lake is a guarantee of success at Mill of Vaise; Probe to find the deepest areas or the shallowest. The bank opposite the lodge can also be productive. Also be aware that there is a lot of activity at Mill of Vaise at night but especially in the morning and at the end of the day. Be patient and ready to catch fish during these times.
