Absolutely fantastic trip! 10 days is a lovely amount of time, plenty of time but not too long. Only three could make it, 63 fish caught. Temperatures were stupidly hot 40/41degs for several days. Even so, the first day resulted in 6 runs. 12 year old grandson went there with a 26lb pb, which was broken 4 times. 27, 34, 37, and the biggest carp of the trip 41.8. We had slow days, then mad days such as 6 30s in 12 hours. Each of us caught the biggest, Ben 54lb sturgeon, grandson Sam 41.8 mirror carp, and Charlie 47lb grass carp. I think I hooked the big sturgeon, but it broke my line, so I have unfinished business, I’ll be back! We had a couple of hedgehogs visit each night, they like boilies!
Well, what a fantastic week we had ! Results were not fantastic but very satisfying. Total fish caught were as follows. 10 carp from 21lb up to 36lb with 2 falling off. 6 sturgeon from 17lb to 51lb 8oz ( twice! ) and a 45lb 8oz grass carp. Everybody managed to catch! Grandson had a lovely time catching small common, mirror and ghost carp float fishing. We had quite a number of takes where the indicators went to the top, line started to be taken and on striking there was nothing there! Rather frustrating. Pretty sure they were big line bites. We ended up leaving them for a few seconds to make sure it was actually a proper run. This happened both day and night. BTW, to the person whose knot came undone the fish was a mirror carp 28lb 4oz. Removed the right ok. Very much enjoyed and will be back next year I hope.
We had a great week with the two of us on the lake weather was quite hot so almost no action during the day time. Most action was early morning or evening. We managed to catch 18 fish between the 2 of us
Had an awesome week’s fishing landing 37 fish. In a 24 hour stint we had 5 40lb+ Carp. We had 7 40’s, 10 30’s and rest were 20’s and a couple doubles. Never felt Carp fight like they did in this lake. Facilities were decent and Remi left us to it. Will definitely be back.
2 anglers on a short session of 4 days fished peg 1 slow to start as carp were grouping up to start spawning . But once the fish were located we had 6 carp between 28lb- 46lb and 2 sturgeon of 25lb and 51lb . brilliant venue as your left alone to fish and remie gave us plenty of info regarding the lake. facilities are basic but the toilet and shower are clean and the kitchen is more than adequate for what we needed . we ressted the urge to feed large beds of bait and caught all the fish on a handful of pellets with 6 whole boilies and 6 crushed boilies in a bait boat. another angler spodded a bed of bait in and didnt have a bite . overall our first trip to france both of us left with new PBs and will definately be back to morliere .
Del & Jason. Fished Morliere lake. 26 -10 – 24 started in swim 1 no bites for 3 day . But pestered by coypu’s so we both moved to swim 3 where it all happened we had 12 fish in all . 3 big sturgeon 43.oo and 59.oo and 135.00 and. 5 carp to 34.ooz all carp and some sturgeon fell to DNA baits bug and secret 7 chopped boilies hemp and secret 7 hydro syrup .we both fished mid water and far margins . Very basic facilities but all in all great fishing we both got pb sturgeons. Big thanks to Remie the owner and big thanks to majestic carp . All the best Del and Jason
Two of us fished swims 1 and 3 week 21st September.
We battled through some terrible weather, torrential downpours, high winds, the water level rose 4 inches in 2 days. We caught 52 fish in total, mirrors up to 44 and commons up to 47. We didn’t fish the islands, all fish were caught in open water in swim 3 and far margin in swim 1. The Sturgeon are a battle, we finally managed to land one of the big boys (150lb+) caught on 2 piece’s of fake corn! Over all a great week fishing, facilities are basic but adequate.
The lake and the fishing was really good, the only problems we had was the electrics in the kitchen keep going off which ment we had no fridge for the food so we had to spend a extra 200 euro on more food, we also could not charge any of out electrics phones, bait boats ect
The problem was sorted 2 days later when a new fridge was replaced
Fished Morliere 31.8 – 7.9
We fished peg 2 and unfortunately the fish were not playing !
We caught 2 fish and lost 4.. A 20lb sturgeon and a 36.8 mirror.
I think the bait we used never helped.. We used essential cell which is a sweet boilie and I think we should’ve used a fishmeal based boilie or a meat one.
Also a bait boat is necessary to get your bait placed to the islands as spombing really killed any action.
The guys in peg 3 opposite had plenty of fish using the above tactics.
That’s fishing though and I have no complaints.
A French guy in peg 1 took 2 hours to land a 156lb sturgeon !!! ( tighten ya clutch mate 🙂 )
The lake itself is spotless and very well looked after and the cabins and shower room are clean and work good. There’s plenty of plugs and there’s
a fridge freezer for your food and bait.
The pegs are very spacious and you have a bench to sit at for food and 2 tripods for weighing fish.. The barrows supplied to transport your
gear to the peg are really good and and very smooth even fully loaded !
The owner is helpful when required and leaves you to your fishing otherwise.
I would recommend the lake but definitely use a boat and fishmeal boilies. Gonna buy a cheap boat on Amazon and not get caught out next time !!
We still had a great relaxing week though and hopefully next trip we’ll bag up !
Majestic carp were also very easy to deal with and fully informed us in the run up to our trip and I would 100% use them again.
Just returned from a very enjoyable week at Morliere.
The lake is about 6 acres with 3 double swims available. We had 5 fishing and it didn’t feel too tight. There are lots of features to fish to, with plenty of scope in each peg. The lake is well maintained with simple, but more than adequate facilities including shower, toilet, fridge/ freezer and gas stove. Water is available on site. There is a small town within 5 minutes, with a decent supermarket. The lake is surrounded by farmland and we saw plenty of wildlife including wild boar, deer, snakes and various birds of prey.
The lake fished well throughout the week despite 38 degree temperatures. Pegs 1 and 3 fished better at various times, with the fish giving themselves away regularly. We had about 50 fish between the group, including Mirrors to 42lb, commons to 40lb, grass carp to 47lb and Sturgeon to 55lb. We hooked and lost one of the bigger sturgeon (100lb+) twice. On standard carp gear you will need equal amounts of skill and luck to land one of these.
Booking with Majestic Carp was very easy and we organised our own crossings, taking about 4 and a half hours from the tunnel. Overall a very positive week and I would happily recommend.
We fished Morliere recently as a lake booking, caught 22 fish throughout the week, biggest carp being 44lbs 6oz and biggest sturgeon being a 55lb diamond back, most of the bites came either early hours of the morning or around 4pm, so be ready for multiple bites at once we had a triple take at one point, majority of fish fell to CC Moore Pro Stim Liver boilies mixed with hemp maize and tigers, hookbaits was CC Moore Pro Stim Liver fished snow man style with a yellow popup, aswell as tiger nuts soaked in CC Moore Pro Stim Bait Booster.
I fished spinner rigs with a 5 inch boom hooklink to a size 6 hook which nailed them every time.
Remi gave us good tips upon arriving and checked in through the week how we got on.
I would recommend using back leads as the sturgeon will take you everywhere in the lake, either fishing to an island or margin done the bites, the 44lb mirror was caught by the far margin on peg 1, fantastic facilities with a fridge and freezer, mains to charge your phones batteries etc, showering and toilet facilities was clean and adequate, enough for you to get a wash brush your teeth etc.
I’d come back here again next year and bring my mates for a big social on the lake
14 fish landed 2 pike 3 sturgeon to 55lb 1 grassy 39lb 8 mirrors to 42lb morning temperatures low fishing hard. Facilities brilliant, lake very nice, owners great. We will go back when the sun is out.
great lake with amazing fish this was our 3rd visit and it never disappoints 11 fish out between us with a new pb for my son at 44lb and a 131lb sturgeon
What a superb week we had. 3 anglers on the lake and 29 fish caught between us. Action from all 3 pegs daily. Carp over 40lb and even the big sturgeon at 126lb. Great variety of exciting fish. The bigger Sturgeon pull your arm off. The owner Remmie is a lovely chap. Facilities are basic but perfectly adequate and clean. The lake and surrounding area is stunning. If you want a bit of excitement and plenty of runs then I would certainly recommend Morliere.
Just arrived back from morlière. Remey and his wife were very nice and friendly. We were very disappointed with the facilities. I know it is a drive and survive, but the is no excuse for not being clean, costs nothing. Swim need up dating and they were over run with rats. Pictures and video is not a true representation of the lake and facilities. ( must be taken a few years ago )
We caught some fish, not as many as expected as the lake is classed as a runs water. I think this was due to high temperatures the week before, then dropping 12 degrees and high again as we left. I have fished for over 50 years and 20 years in France so I understand if you don’t always catch alot. I am sorry but I would not recommend this lake.
Hi Justin & Kevin, thanks for your feedback. As we discussed on whatsapp, since your review we have asked the owner to do a major clean up. This has been done and the owner has sent us some photos which you can find above. Thank you again for your feedback which was very useful and we are sorry that the conditions were not optimal for your stay, it is sometimes frustrating
What a fantastic little lake. With good clean toilet and shower cooking shed and freezer ..the fishing was very good for our group with all 6 anglers catching plenty of fish once we realise we needed to fish tight to the islands and margins. Open water was not the one for are group even the massive sturgeon got caught under bushes and trees tight to islands and margins..popups and snowman rigs working for us yellow being are best colour..are advice would be 20lb sub line and a strong size 4 hook and defo back leds as the sturgeon will take you for a walk through other swims there is not a lot you can do to stop the big ones it a long waiting game with steady pressure. As a group we would highly recommend this friendly clean safe little lake we all had a very good week 👍👍
Amazing week with a beautiful lake and even more beautiful weather. Fishing wasn’t the easiest with the hot weather but everyone had a PB!
Facilities were great and the lake is very well looked after.
Remy came and gave us some tips and was very friendly and helpful. All in all a great week, with immaculate fish and some cracking memories for the lads 👍🏾
Thank you majestic for your knowledge and ensuring we had a great time.
Morlière.
Overall a nice place with friendly staff, very little English speaking so difficult to find out any knowledge. Our fault for not speaking French! Lol
Many rats and giant rats there so sanitisation is essential. The wc needs updating the shower is OK. The anglers need very strong line and tackle as the sturgeon are unstoppable in such a small lake with islands in!
Nornal carp tackle needs to be stronger to land them. Luckily we had strong enough stuff with us! Minimum 18lb line.
Has the ability to be a good lake in future. Had the big sturgeon over 100lb, also another one at 55lbz carp up to 44lb. 28lb mirror, 38lb mirror, 44lb mirror and a common at 44. Facilities need a major uphaul then I think it il be a good fishery in future. Thanks
Great week lost about 8 fish between 3 of us 72lb sturgeon 40lb mirror and 44lb common and couple of 30lbers all in all great week lake and swims fantastic but the toilets need to be updated bit of wood and a hole in the ground not to my liking but everything else was fantastic.
Very nice and well maintained lake. Very nice fish for great sessions. There are trolleys, toilets and even a shower on the spot, a table with chairs, a weighing tripod and a barbecue at each swim.
