I just wanted to leave a review about our week on “Noute 1” 25th April to 2nd June 2026.
Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The weather was very kind to us except the first two nights were quite cold.
My Friend Gareth caught 10 carp up to 39lb which provided him with an enjoyable weeks fishing. I caught 50 carp up to 46lb 4oz. this was one of 4 mid 40’s, 15 x 30’s to 38lb 10oz, 17 x 20’s to 29lb and a handful of mid doubles to just under 20lb.
All in all a fun and busy week with the majority of fish being in excellent condition and fighting like tysons.
Facilities a little basic but more than adequate. A little noise from the road didn’t bother us and we didn.t see a single rat which was nice.

Had a fantastic week at Noute 1 last week. Fishing was brilliant. Landed 69 carp. Best ones attached.
The tiny house was ok but is being replaced by Fabrice.
Both Fabrice and Laura were fabulous
Noute 1 wasn’t easy but produced around 50 fish across 5 anglers. The welcome from the owners was amazing, made to feel really welcome, bait delivered to the lake with some advice on where to fish. It was very hot so bites came primarily early and late, dead during the day as you would expect. Shower was good, power to charge batteries and little kitchen worked well.
Just got back from a very enjoyable but tiring week on Noute 1. 4 anglers 70 carp with 23 coming in at over 30lb and a 40 going to 47lb. Swim 3 produced 40 carp for 1 angler inc the 47lber.
Fabrice and Laura were great hosts and tried to answer the 100 questions we threw at them. Most of the carp came from the far margins whch are very very snaggy so be prepared to fish locked up. The Tiny house is a great place to store food and charge phones, boats and power packs etc but the toilet and shower have been removed. There is a shower and 2 dry toilets in a new wooden hut near another of the lakes, but would have been nice to have our own.
Overall a nice place to fish and not as noisy as was dreading.
Would definitely go back to Noute and try another one of their waters.

Firstly Fabrice and Laura were very helpful when we needed it and were both welcoming and pleasant. Road noise was definitely not an issue for us.
We had a great week at Noute 1 with all 4 of our group catching some lovely fish. We had fish up to 46lb, backed up by some 30s, 20s and a few doubles. All night bites so by the weeks end we were feeling it. Little house is a great asset for cooking, storing and charging. Rats are present, but with a bit of peppermint oil scattered around the Bivvy weren’t to much of a problem. Would definitely consider coming back and trying one of the other lakes. Only criticism would be for the whole complex of 6 lakes there’s only one shower. This didn’t cause us many problems, but think of a place of the size that Noute is, could do with a larger shower block.
Laura and Fabrice were very welcoming and quickly supplied our ordered bait and after sorting our deposit took us to our lake for the week. They explained tactics, best areas and areas to watch for as some snags are present all around the 3 sides you can cast to. They came by on a daily basis to check progress, give more help and advice if required. Facilities were good. Fishing was excellent! We had 46 fish between the 4 of us. 2 40s, 6 30s, lots of 20s and plenty of double figures. Easy to get to. Shops very close by. Would definitely go again- maybe try Noute 2 next! Thanks again to the owners they made the holiday easy and the bait shop was excellent

Couldn’t ask for more as an angler.
The owners where great and couldn’t of been more welcoming. We had 14 fish between us up to 52lb and plenty of 30lb carp including an impressive 36lb grass carp.also lost a few.
Facilities where spot on also for our stay , the little house provided great cooking facilities, the toilet and shower block was only a short walk from the lake which always helps.nice warm shower and clean basic toilets. All in all 2 very happy anglers who will be returning in the future.

Really enjoyed our trip to Noute – August 26th to September 2nd. Fabrice and Laura are great hosts and were happy to help, or leave us to it if we wished. Fishing was tricky for us but we managed 17 carp to the net (4 anglers fishing hard day and night.) Most bites came through the hours of darkness with peg 1 doing the most bites this week. We had 2 fish over 40lb. 5 fish over 30lb. 6 20lb+ and the rest doubles. Very long range spots (140yds) for pegs 2 and 3 require a bait boat to fish the far margin due to both the distance and the overhanging trees. The fish caught were very clean and fought hard.
Road noise was not an issue for us but be aware that there is a fair amount of traffic, especially early morning. There is a healthy population of rats at the lake but, again, we were not overly bothered.
Noute is a lovely lake with some cracking carp and a friendly welcome.

First off I would like to say a massive thank you to Fabrice and Laura, could not ask for 2 lovely people so helpful nothing to much for them, if you need something they are always their to help, I took my dad, wife’ and my son and grandson, it was the first time my son and grandson had been to France fishing what a picture to see their faces when they pulled in a38 common, 30 grass carp and many more.I would definitely recommend Norte lake to any fishermen or women lovely lake supermarket close by, fishing tackle shop on site. Once again from all of us a massive thank you for a great week see you soon in the future Steve
Just had a wonderful week here. Was very sorry to leave. Fantastic lake with a great stock of fish. All smashed our personal bests from a 27lb all the way up to 44lb. Lost count of how many fish. Well stocked from commons, mirrors and grass carp all providing different challenges. Laura and Fabrice were really welcoming, knew their stuff and always on hand to help when we needed them. Boating on the lake was fun and their shop was well stocked with bait if needed. I’d definitely go again and highly recommend Noute!
Me and two friends stayed at noute 1 for the week and had a fantastic week, caught over 30 carp, biggest were 54lb, 41lb, 38lb, 33lb and a 40lb grass carp.
Easy location from calais with a nice supermarket about a 5 minute drive away from the lake. The owners were fantastic and made us very welcome.
The road is a very quiet road, not noisy as a previous review stated.
We will definitely be booking again for next year.
Spent a week at Noute and what a week it was 14 fish 36lb grass carp 31lb mirror 36ib common 34ib mirror and to top it off we caught buckoo Fabrice the owners favourite fish he came out at a whopping. 53.5lb amazing

we had a cracking week on noute with fish ranging from low 20s to high 40s.Fabrice and Laura were exceptional hosts and were on hand at any anytime. The fish are really stunning with over 50 caughtand we are booked for next year would recommend to anyone.
the couple that own the place are very friendly and helpful. The lake itself is very good, with plenty of fish, but lots of rats.
The thing that let’s it down is ‘the little house’.
Would be a lot better with a decent fridge and freezer, most people going aren’t going to sleep in it, so more room for cooking and eating and a decent size shower.
Would definitely go back again.
Arrived at Noute and were met by Fabrice & Laura , who were very welcoming and showed us around . The lake is a real old mature lake , with grass banks to fish from . We were just two anglers , fishing 3 rods each . Conditions were really against us with temperatures of over 35 degree heat and clear blue skies , but we still managed to put 75 fish on the bank between us .
There was a great variation of fish and equal amounts caught of commons to 37lb and mirrors to 45lb . We also caught some PB Grass Carp upto 34 lb and a Ghost Carp to 23lb , also a lovely smaller Koi .
Overall a stunning venue and good facilities and a credit to Fabrice and Laura , will be booking back up for sure .
Jon, Congrats on a great weeks fishing. We are due to visit the lake in the summer and was hoping for some pointers. Did you use the lake bait or did you bring your own for starters. This will be our first time fishing in France and to be honest any advice would be welcome.
Where do I start, I have just returned from a week on Noute etang with my brother Joe and very close family friend Rab.
From the moment we arrived Fabrice and Laura made us feel so welcome . I can honestly say after going to France for the past 10 years , Laura and Fabrice are the most friendly lake owners I have had the pleasure to meet .
Now the lake (WOW), this lake is a genuine challenge , you never know what size fish you are going to catch next and the fish are stunning as is the lake .
This lake has everything you could ever want , it has weed beds , gravel areas and Lilly pads which all hold fish , and if you ever want to fish a lake you can call paradise then go to Noute Etang .

Just returned from our first trip to Noute Etang had 29 fish between 3 guys ( I just managed 4) all excellent quality fish and fight nothing like we have encountered before. Facilities are excellent and as said many times Laura and Fabrice are superb hosts. Will be back soon Rab, Joe, Andy.
Great venue, Fabrice and Laura are excellent hosts and are more than happy to assist with any queries.
Unfortunately some of the larger fish eluded us, however what fish we caught gave a really great account for themselves.

Owners are genuine, nice helpful people with a good fishing knowledge to aid anglers if needed, they really do know there lake, the lake itself is a very nice wild looking place to fish with a genuine huge stock of fish, you really never know what the next run will bring there. We managed fish to up to 51lb in difficult cold and wet fishing conditions, if you want a natural looking wild lake where you will be made very welcome and looked after, book Noute as you will not be disappointed

Just over a 2 hour drive from Calais and only £16 in tolls. There are 4 pegs 2 of which are double pegs (pegs need work as very slippery). The fish we caught were mainly from the far margins and would really recommend a bait boat as from some pegs it’s 120 metres. The lake is 8ft at peg 1 end down to 5ft at the peg 4 end with a predominately a gravel bottom with no weed. The little house is handy for a base to shower etc, remember it’s a compost toilet. The owners are very friendly and always reply quickly to a WhatsApp message. I would recommend not to put too much bait out as the person in our group who caught the least fish put the most bait in (you can put more in but you can’t take it back out) The 2 of us who caught the most fish used Actor Plus GPS bait boats as they got us back on the spots in the dark which is when the bigger fish were caught. The fish are stunning and some of the low double fish will run you ragged, beware of the snags in the near margins especially at night when it’s harder to see the direction of the line. There’s a supermarket 3km away and with help from Laura we managed to get Pizza delivery to the lake. Fished the end of March 2022, I had 15 fish to 40lb2oz. Will definitely be back again.
Just returned from a week from this very special place! It was our first trip to France for fishing and as a four we where quiet apprehensive of what to expect. But as soon as we arrived to the moment we left we was put as ease by fabrice & Laura nothing was too much and we was provided with everything we required! We caught 56 carp over the course of the week out of a possible 64. All the carp are stunning very well looked after. THEY FIGHT HARD!
If your looking for a 10/10 lake to fish France this is the place to go!
