La Reserve
Very good venue.
Could do with a bit more space in the kitchen and also if using bedrooms be mindful that the kitchen and bathroom is accessed through this so if you are using the other bedroom as I did then once everyone is in bed the bathroom isn’t accessible for all!
Water for showers, toilet flushing and washing up is in a 1000L tank so you need to be frugal or risk running out- especially with a week of 30+ degrees.
Good fishing- smallest caught was 15lb (not counting my 4lb tench) and biggest on the trip was 43.5lb common. That was caught twice! But a good selection 14 in total, 7 20s 4 30s included. If you choose to sleep in the cabins and not by the rods then speed is important as there are some snags to contend with. I lost 5 to snags and complete cut offs due to a sunken tree on the right margin. Most fish came between 9pm and 5am
Boilies are spot on for freebies but I would recommend popped up tiger nuts using plastic maize or corn. There are lots of crayfish all around the margins so unless you use hardened hook baits the boilie will be gone before you get a bite. Even wafter/pop ups were getting chomped!
Would recommend you reserve the rowing boat for retrieving lines at snags but it is not a big enough water to warrant the electric motor hire. It really is 3 anglers max and with 3 rods each it is tight, not because 4 acres isn’t enough but the space for 3 can result in line wipe out
Overall very happy with the venue
Fantastic carp fishing in a natural peaceful surroundings. Fantastic facilities for off grid, very hot water, and comfortable beds. The carp in this lake are incredible. If you like zip linears, big commons and big scaley bangers, this is the lake for you. Fantastic fishery. Can’t wait to go back.
Beautiful surroundings, the Reserve is a stunning venue with great facilities which made our holiday very comfortable and enjoyable. The fishing was excellent, we caught 46 x Carp all stunning, immaculate, hard fighting fish.
Raphaël the owner went above and beyond to make our holiday relaxing and has really worked hard at creating such a wonderful fishing experience.
He even cooked and brought us some particle bait for free to use.
